What a Home Shield month looks like in Plano
A scheduled monthly visit
An insured technician visits your Plano home within a preferred recurring window for up to two technician-hours. Exact dates, arrival times, and technician assignments are not guaranteed. There is no trip fee for the included visit.
Your punch list, handled
Sticking doors, running toilets, dead outlets, loose hardware, caulk, grout, filters, bulbs, and detector batteries — examples subject to time, access, materials, safety, and scope. Materials and parts are billed separately unless stated.
A written condition report
Photos, findings, and recommendations, ordinarily within two business days. This is a maintenance record, not a code inspection or guarantee against failures.
What we actually find in Plano homes
Two-story custom homes from the mid-1990s through new construction — typically 3,500–7,500 sq ft on quarter-acre lots with 200 amp panels, structured-wiring closets, and tankless-ready gas lines.
City of Plano inspections are strict on tankless venting and EV-charger load calcs. Most West Plano HOAs (Willow Bend, Kings Ridge) require architectural review for exterior changes and roofline work.
- Tankless water heaters never descaled — the single most common deferred item in West Plano homes
- Structured-wiring closets running hot with aging routers, switches, and unlabeled dead runs
- Three-car-garage EV chargers on circuits that were never load-verified after installation
- Second-floor condensate pans and secondary drains staining ceilings in 3,500–7,500 sq ft two-stories
- Exterior trim and roofline paint failure that HOA architectural review will eventually flag

$249 billed monthly or $2,688 billed annually in advance (save $300), renewing automatically. Approved additional labor is $95 per technician-hour in 30-minute increments. Eligible larger approved projects receive 10% off our self-performed labor, up to $500 per project; materials, permits, equipment rental, subcontractors, design fees, emergency work, and third-party charges are excluded, and the discount cannot be combined with other promotions. Separately billed work requires written approval; default spending authorization is $0. Unused time does not roll over. Priority scheduling is preference over comparable non-member requests, not a same-day or emergency guarantee. Emergency and after-hours service are not included.
