Entryway Accent Wall — Electrical, Drywall & Finish

Project Story
The Challenge
An interior designer brought us in to refresh the entryway of a residential client's home. The existing layout had a light switch and alarm control panel sharing a small accent wall just inside the front door — functional, but not exactly the first impression anyone wants. The goal was to clean up the look, add a new lighting element, and tie it all together with fresh drywall and paint work.
The Solution
We started with the electrical: the existing switch was relocated above the alarm control panel to consolidate the controls in one tidy area and free up wall space. A new switch was added and wire was run through the wall to serve a new wall sconce — keeping everything clean and concealed with no exposed conduit. Once the electrical rough-in was complete, we patched the drywall where the old switch had been and anywhere wire fishing required access, then painted the wall to a seamless finish. With the surface work done, we installed the wall sconce and hung the designer's selected piece of art to complete the look.
The Result
What was once a cluttered utility wall is now a polished entryway focal point. The consolidated controls are neat and unobtrusive, the new sconce adds warm accent lighting right where guests first walk in, and the finished wall looks like the work was never touched. The interior designer's client got a entryway that makes the right first impression — clean, intentional, and well-lit.
